The Wesleyan Years 1964-68

While getting B.A. with a double major in math and speech, I managed to do a terrific number of plays, act as Prof. Eyssen's shop assistant, fall in and out of love, and go through ROTC. That's me showing Greg Hepner that a Cessna 150 has a propeller. Imagine being ROTC on the campus of a small liberal arts college in the sixties!

Under the watchful eyes of Don Eyssen, Robert Crosby and later on Bo Rabby, I managed to learn quite a few things. I hit the ground running by getting a major role in the first play my Freshman year in The Lark I got to TD many of the road shows that came to campus (including a very brief stint with Will Geer in An Evening's Frost" on the road when his TD got sick) , try my hand at directing, and generally learn my way around the shop. My senior year, I got to design Bo Rabby's first show, The Fantasticks, and play Hamlet. Who could ask for more? The acting resume at OWU shaped up as follows: Those with infinte patience might want to browse among the gazillion photos and reviews I amassed during this time. Many are waiting to be uploaded, but...Click away...

Meantime, summers were divided between the Playhouse on the Green, The Golden Belle Playhouse, and Otterbein Summer Theatre. Somewhere along the way, Uncle Sam even taught me to fly before heading off to Reese AFB, in Lubbock TX to pilot training.
